The Eighth Body
This is prana, your life force energy.
It is the spark of life. The most commonly understood source of prana is your breath.
It can also be the food you eat, the things you look at, and the quality of your conversations. For example, organically grown fruits and vegetables, harvested with care, are higher in prana than green house fruits and vegetables grown with grow lights.
A conversation laced with gossip has less prana. A prayer for someone’s well being has more prana.
The description of this body includes energy, karma (meaning consequences), healing, dignity, gratitude and the Wheel of Life.
The archetype is the Executive (mind), a person of power with compassion. Compassion is developed, it grows inside you and from that well of compassion, you can create service, offer and give love.
Try this meditation for the 8th Body
3 or more minutes of long, deep, slow, slow, relaxed breathing in and out through the nose, preferably with a straight spine.
The yogis teach that when you control your breath, you control your mind. When you control your mind, you control your life.
When your timer goes off, do these steps:
Soften and relax your eyes while continuing to breathe slowly.
Rub your hands together briskly to create heat on your palms.
Cup your palms over your eyes and allow your eyes to absorb the warmth.
Slowly move your hands away from your eyes and look out in a relaxed way.
*The palms of your hands have energy centres (chakras) that are energized by briskly rubbing your palms together until they get warm/hot.
Sore knees? Upset tummy? You could rub your palms together in this way and then put your warmed up hands on a body part that needs some healing.
